Whiskey Cider Julep

This cocktail is super easy thanks to the addition of julep bitters in place of fresh mint, which can be hard to come by in winter… not to mention it prevents you from having to double strain this cocktail. An easy sipper that can be dialed from dry to sweet based on the cider you use. Here we used a dry cider which gave the drink a very delicate flavor and kept it from being overly sweet.

Ingredients

3 Lime Wedges
3 dashes Remedy Cocktail Company Julep Bitters
.5 oz Simple Syrup
1.5 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
3 oz Hard Apple Cider

Garnish:
Lime Wedge
Mint Sprig

Instructions

Muddle limes, bitters, and simple syrup in the bottom of a shaker tin before adding whiskey and shaking with ice until chilled. Strain over crushed ice in a Collins glass. Top with hard apple cider, pack with more crushed ice and garnish with lime wedge and mint sprig.
