This rum cask whiskey works well in an old fashioned style beverage and with St Patricks day around the corner we thought pairing it with this small batch Irish cream would be interesting. The result is a hybrid between an old fashioned and a White Russian. It is spirit forward with nutty notes from the nutmeg aromatics and the black walnut finish lent by the black walnut bitters.
2 oz Teeling Rum Cask Irish Whiskey
1 oz Irish Cream Liqueur
2 dashes Remedy Cocktail Company Black Walnut Bitters
Fresh Grated Nutmeg
Stir all ingredients with ice until chilled. Strain over large cube in a double rocks glass. Grate nutmeg over top.
